The Barringer Law Firm was established in 2007. Our office has successfully aided immigrant families around the world. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, effective and superior legal services for cases ranging from immigration to criminal defense and civil matters.

Jim Matthews
Jim was born in West Virginia and grew up in Texas and he and his family have been in Denver since 1998.
Jim joined Barringer Law Firm, bringing his expertise and experience from the non-profit, bookkeeping and business management fields to help the firm continue to grow and be successful in helping all our clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives.
In his free time, Jim spends time working on his property in the country, camping, hiking, and spending time with his family.
Claudia Ginos
Claudia Ginos is an experienced administrative professional with a proven track record of
supporting nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. She is highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented, with hands-on experience managing day-to-day administrative operations,
coordinating schedules, supporting programs and events, and ensuring smooth office workflows.
Claudia has been living in Colorado for the past nine years, where she enjoys the balance of
professional growth and an active, nature-inspired lifestyle. She loves animals, spending time in
nature, reading, practicing yoga, and hiking. Claudia has a strong commitment to community
service—she previously volunteered with Hospice and currently contributes her time as a volunteer with the Denver Police Department.
She is driven by meaningful work and takes pride in contributing her skills to organizations that
serve individuals and communities with care, professionalism, and integrity.
Jovana Meraz
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Jovana Meraz is a graduate of Adams City High School and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at New Mexico State University. She now serves as a Contracts Specialist at Barringer Law Firm. With family roots in Nazas, Durango, and Mexico City, Jovana is proud of her parents’ journey to the United States to seek a better future for her and her siblings. In her free time, she enjoys staying active by playing volleyball, swimming, and going to the gym, as well as spending quality time with her parents and her dogs.
Melissa Ortega
Melissa Ortega serves as the Receptionist for Barringer Law Firm and is the vital first point of contact for the firm’s clients. She manages incoming calls, schedules appointments, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Melissa holds an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. She aspires to become a lawyer and is committed to gaining meaningful experience in the legal field while providing professional, respectful service to every client she assists.
Paz Mendez
Paz Mendez is originally from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. She moved to Denver in 1986 and immediately fell in love with the state of Colorado. A dedicated family woman, Paz has a son, a daughter, and two beautiful granddaughters whom she loves spending time with. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and hosting game nights with her sisters and nieces. Paz joined Barringer Law Firm for the opportunity to provide exceptional customer service to the firm’s clients.
Yolanda Garza
Yolanda was born in Greeley, Colorado, and has a strong passion for helping her community and volunteering for non-profit organizations. She moved to Texas in 2009 to launch a family business, where she “wore many hats” and gained valuable experience. In 2019, Yolanda returned to Denver to further her career in customer service. She loves to stay busy and is known for her efficiency and ability to multitask as a supportive team player. In her free time, Yolanda enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
